Ars Electronica | Art Thinking Tours

>> Understanding art as a compass.<<

Artists have always understood the power of questions – and that’s what drives them to make sense of the world. The newly initiated Ars Electronica Art Thinking School acts as an entry point to convey this artistic mindset to the people. For introducing this initiative at the 2019 Ars Electronica Festival, special self-guided Art Thinking Tours were created that should on the one hand introduce to Art Thinking and on the other hand help to navigate through the huge jungle of the festival’s program.

Here you can read an interview with me and my colleague Hideaki Ogawa, co-director of Ars Electronica Futurelab, where we explain what the Art Thinking School is about.

Together with Hideki Ogawa and my colleague Vanessa Graf, we curated five Art Thinking Tours guiding through the Ars Electronica Festival program and focusing on the themes: Art x Society, Art x Science, Art x Education, Art x City and Art x Industry. Each tour highlighted artworks and events connected to those themes.

The Art Thinking Tours were offered as take-away booklets and they are also available for download here.
